Check out the video, I can’t find the words to describe the utter brilliance of this game. It does not get much weirder than Flipnic. If you are a pinball fanatic and looking for something weird, look no further. It was released in 2006 for the Gamecube and when I spoke about pinball games with some of the guys from Nintendo, they too had this in mind as one of the most intriguing pinball games ever. You control armies with voice commands while a huge rock is rolling over the battlefield, smashing friend and foe in its path. Without a doubt, Odama (translated as “Big Rock”) is the craziest pinball game ever built. Therefore – in honor of those games that came before us, out of respect for the innovators who have taken on the challenge to give pinball a twist, I present to you: Our top 10 list of the craziest flipper games ever. It is hard to create a good pinball game – the physics simulation is hard, the level design is hard, the balancing is hard. Most of these pinball games have been forgotten by the masses, but they are true gems. Almost everyone we talked to, refered to a game they remember from the good old days. There is a whole history of amazing pinball games that go beyond simple cabinets. The more we talked to people about this idea, the more we were proven wrong. Wrong, because there are dozens of examples on other platforms. Right, because on iOS there is only a handful of games that took a shot at it. When we started the idea of “ Pinball Forever” (the ugly prototype that later turned into Momonga Pinball Adventures), we honestly thought that there were not that many pinball games out there that gave the genre a twist. Some programmers might consider it a simple mechanic, like Pong or Tetris – a nice hobby project, but not something to spend serious time on. So, I offer this retrospective on my purchases.Pinball is not the sexiest game a developer can choose to make – especially on iOS it is a bit old-fashioned and targeted towards a niche audience. I searched, also, after the holidays and after my purchase for some guidance and there wasn't much out there. None were a replacement for my ultimate quest of an Addams Family table. They all play well and are, I'm sure, representative of the original games. I post this commentary, not as a criticism of the tables, themselves, or their implementation. In the end, though, I wish I had invested those funds in a PC that could run The Addams Family table in OTG mode. Neither of the Zaccarias packs comes close to that level of familiarity and really doesn't drive any interest. I was a HARD CORE The Addams Family player and just about any other table was indistinguishable from the next. Each Zaccaria pack seems to be comprised of a "classic" version of a table, a modernized version of that table, and tables that weren't classic, but didn't merit modernization. I don't have any similar "frame of reference" for any of the Zaccaria tables. The Grinch, alone, was worth the purchase. The same applies to The Cat in the Hat and ummmm. I've a connection to the book and, later, with me kids, the movie. My favorite is The Grinch - even without the holiday season, just being aware of the sequence of events from the book/movie, it feels "right" to have to steal the presents!, to steal the feast and the roast beast. If there's a particular table that you're after, focus on the shortest path to that table. Neither of the two Zaccaria packs were worth the purchase. For me, as a fan of relatable, modern tables, Dr. The tl dr version - It depends on what you're looking for. First, I should say that I prefer more modern tables - tables that have multiple modes/missions - that require me to complete a series of tasks before completing the mode/mission. I've purchased two Zaccaria packs (1 and 9) and the Dr. I, too, picked up a Legends Pinball at Sams over the holidays.
